Hi! We're April, Ashlee & K'Lee, co-founders of Homefront Heroes Ministries.

When the Lord called us to lead this ministry, we knew we'd need Him to equip us with all the knowledge, discipleship and professional development it would take to lead His daughter's well. So, we soaked in everything the Lord would allow us to gather.

For over 10 years, we have been discipled by our local churches, served as Women's Ministry Leaders in our military communities, held church staff positions, received coaching by well-rooted, best-selling Christian authors & extensively studied the Word of God in order to lead our community well.

But most importantly, we have encountered Jesus in the trenches. We have faced the hard days and have had to cling to the Truth of who He is in the face of darkness, loneliness and incredible overwhelm.

He's required us to die to ourselves, turn away from sin and abide with Him above all else, and the work He is doing in us will be ongoing until His triumphant return. Our hearts are His, our lives are His, and it is only because of Him that we have anything to say at all.

We don't desire to become a substitute for church attendance, but pray that, through our ministry, military wives around the world would encounter the full truth of Jesus Christ and be transformed by equipping the local church to gather & disciple her in the Truth.

All glory to God!

What We Believe

One, Most High, Holy, Sovereign God who is Creator of all things and rules justly over His creation, revealed to us in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Eph 4:6, Hab 1:13, Lev 19:2, Col 1:17, Ps. 24:1-2, Isa 61:8, Matt. 28:19).

Jesus Christ, God incarnate, Son of God, and the visible image of the invisible God, who dwelled among us in sinless humanity to satisfy the wrath of God through His finished work on the cross: His death, descent, resurrection and ascension to Heaven where He now sits at the right hand of the Father. (Col 1:15-17, 2 Cor 5:21, Rom 5:8-9, 1 Pet 3:18-22)

The complete deity and complete humanity of Jesus Christ. (John 1:14, Heb 1:3)

Salvation through Jesus alone by the confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and belief that God raised Him from the dead (Rom 10:9).  The Holy Spirit indwells all who confess Jesus as Lord, performing the sanctifying work of God in us and through us. (Rom 8:9-11)

The ongoing work and power of the Holy Spirit in us and through us, and the distribution of spiritual gifts within the body of Christ used for the edification of the church and the glorification of God. (1 Cor 12, 1 Cor 14, Rom. 12:6-8)

We are justified only through Christ's sacrifice that has fulfilled the law and covered all sins for all time by faith in Jesus Christ alone, by grace alone. (Gal 2:16, Matt 5:17, Rom 3:24)

Jesus will return for His church and the bodily resurrection of all believers, the new Heaven & Earth, and eternal separation from God in hell for unbelievers. (Isa 65:17, 66:22; 2 Pet 3:13; Rev 21:1)

The body of Christ is composed of all who believe in Him and is defined as the Church. Obedience to the gathering of the local church should not be neglected and is vital for all believers. As a ministry, we do not seek to be a substitute for the local church and diligently direct our community to seek out a healthy church community. (Rom 12:4-5, Heb 10:25)

God values human life. All people are created in the image of God, and His love for us was displayed in that Jesus laid down His life for us all. All life, from conception to death, is significant to God and is worthy of protection and dignity.  (Gen 1:26-27, John 3:16)

God is compassionate and cares about our pain, but our emotions are indicators of where we need God to work in our hearts, lies we need to untangle about God, or hurt that needs tending to. Our emotions are real and from God, but cannot be what directs our steps, and must be filtered through the truth of who God is in accordance with His Word. (Ps 34:18, Heb 4:15, Matt 11:28-30)

Holy Rest and a counter-cultural pace of production. As a ministry, we believe in God’s command to honor the Sabbath, and we trust His authority and ability to uphold our ministry when He commands us to be still. Homefront Heroes Ministries prayerfully maintains a pace of production that does not require our team to ignore their capacity or forfeit the sabbath. (Ex 20:8-11, Rom 12:2)

God’s design for His creation is good. God created man and woman, and should they marry, His design for marriage is between one man and one woman. Marriage is a lifelong and holy covenant before the Lord in which the two become one flesh, intended by God to only be separated by death. The Lord does not require anyone to remain in a marriage containing abuse or adultery. (Gen 1:26-28, Matt 19:5-6)

The Great Commission. We believe in the power of story to share the good news of the Gospel and tell the world of what Jesus has done for us, in us, and through us. (Matt 28:18-20)

Our Story

Homefront Heroes began in August of 2016 as a deployment support group called “Faith Deployed” that was attached to the military chapel in Fort Riley, KS. The vision was to create community for ladies who were attending Bible Study, that wanted something that specifically focused on deployment. The following year, April Griffin, felt called to continue this ministry but God gave her a new vision.

This new deployment group would focus heavily on reaching the community. Instead of only meeting the needs of chapel attendees, she would get out into the community to reach women unconnected to a body of faith. She would invite women who were unconnected in their community and focus her attention on reaching the lost and the hurting. God blessed this vision and attendance soared!

After the first year, April prayed and felt the need to change the name of the group to Homefront Heroes, to encompass not just deployment but also pre-deployment, reintegration, or any other challenging season of military life.

In January of 2019, God began speaking to April that there was still more to be done. With much prayer, and timing that could only be from God, He prepared Ashlee Beasley and K’lee Reynolds together with the same vision of ministry and together they established Homefront Heroes Ministries.

In the last ten years, God has equipped us to steward this ministry well through years of discipleship in women's ministry leadership, education in English and Biblical Studies, church staff positions in pastoral care, and professional opportunities to develop our knowledge of credible content creation.

We take seriously our walk with Christ and believe that a right understanding of God's Word and His character is a right understanding of everything else.

Our heart is to bring the hope and love of Jesus to the military wife community through relevant, Biblical resources, and encouraging content through our social media platforms. Hope on the Homefront podcast, YouVersion Bible plans and in person speaking events.
