When I was 21 years old I sat in the seat of the my first church as a new military wife and the Women's Ministry leader came up to share some simple announcements. She was so warm and welcoming and her presence was captivating. I said a simple prayer as I sat, "Lord, make me like her." His reply was just as simple but it has impacted me for the rest of my life. He spoke to my heart right then and said, "If you want to be like her, you need to become like Me." That single sentence led me into a passionate pursuit to know, serve and become like Christ, whom I spent many years running away from.

Since that day He has refined me in so many ways and has been a faithful and firm foundation in our -always uncertain- life as a military family. The Lord has carried me through some of my hardest days as a military wife. His process of becoming has been painful and uncomfortable, yet incredibly joyful. Much like a caterpillar entering the cocoon. My speaking topics are an invitation for military wives to step into The Lord’s transformative “cocoon” and gain a new perspective that equips them to thrive!
